The Premiership is continuing to show why it is the best league in the world. Its just so unpredictable even more than this years AFL fixture. The title race for once looks wide open and not just for the usual 'big four'. I fear for Liverpool this season, currently lying down in 8th, knocked out of the Champions League and and really struggling to gain any sort of consistency. This period over christmas is going to be very important if they want to play European football next season.

The battle to avoid the drop is just as exciting as the battle to win the league, with Pompey looking doomed just a few weeks ago, but now just two points off the rest of the pack. The new boys are doing their bit and Birmingham are really flying. Be prepared for a big team to go down this season
